What your Rust server looks like at ZentexNode

What you can do with your Rust server

You get a server of your own that stays online 24/7, whether or not you are connected, and runs by your rules. It is compatible with Oxide/uMod plugins, and wipes happen when you say so: reset the map, the blueprints or both, and change the seed and the map size while you are at it.

Day-to-day admin is done through the live console and RCON, alongside the rest of the browser-based control panel: file manager, SFTP access, backups, scheduled tasks, and sub-users so you can share admin duties with set permissions. Anti-DDoS protection is included.

Which plan to choose

Better to be upfront about it: Rust is one of the most memory-hungry games there is, and the smallest plans fall short for it. Billing is monthly with no commitment, and if your community grows you can move to a plan with more RAM from the client area without losing your data. Our recommendation:

  • 8 GB: the starting point for a playable server.
  • 12 to 16 GB: large maps, or lots of players and plugins.
  • Every plan includes 10 GB of NVMe storage per GB of RAM, as many stored backups and MySQL databases as it has GB of RAM, and 5 ports.

How to get started

Pick a plan and complete the payment. Activation is automatic: the server is created on its own and your login details arrive by email. Log in to the panel, decide on the seed and the map size, start the server and watch it boot in the console. Once it is up, share the address with your players so they can connect.

If you get stuck along the way, support is handled through tickets on Discord.

Wipes and restarts on your own schedule

Wipes are your call: you decide when they happen and what gets reset. You can reset just the map, just the blueprints or both, and use the occasion to change the seed or the map size so everyone starts in a different world. That way the pace of the server fits your community, whether you wipe often or only now and then.

Automatic restarts are set up with the panel's scheduled tasks, which can also run commands or backups at the times you choose. Before a wipe you can take a backup, in case you want to keep the server as it was.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Rust hosting

The most common questions before setting up your Rust server.

How much RAM do I need for Rust?
Rust is demanding: 6-8 GB for medium maps and 50-100 players; raise the RAM for large maps or many plugins.
Can I use Oxide/uMod plugins?
Yes, we support Oxide/uMod and you get full access to install plugins and configure your server.
Can I wipe the map and keep the blueprints?
Yes. You decide whether to reset the map, the blueprints or both, and when to do it.
Can I manage the server over RCON?
Yes. As well as the live console in the panel, you have RCON for administering the server.
Can I start on a small plan and upgrade later?
You can move to a plan with more RAM later from the client area, without losing your data. Even so, we do not recommend starting Rust below 8 GB, because the smallest plans fall short for this game.
Can someone set the server up for me?
Yes, with Assisted setup: an optional one-off paid service in which a technician leaves the server configured (version, world, mods, settings). You can add it when you order or later from the client area.
Where are the servers and what latency will I get in the US?
Our US node is in Miami, Florida. It is our closest location for players in the eastern and southern United States, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean; from the West Coast the distance is greater, so latency will be higher. We also have nodes in Spain and in the São Paulo region (Brazil), and you choose the location at checkout. Real latency depends on your internet provider; if you want to check it before buying, ask us on Discord.
Does it include Anti-DDoS and a no-commitment trial?
Yes, every plan includes Anti-DDoS Pro and there is no contract: you can cancel whenever you want.
What currency do I pay in?
Prices for the United States are in US dollars (USD) and you pay by card. There is no setup fee and no contract.
