Connecting via SFTP to Manage Your Files

📡 What is SFTP and what's it for?

SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol) lets you connect directly to your server's file system from your computer. It's much faster than the web panel's file manager and lets you upload/download large files (worlds, backups) efficiently.

🛠️ 1. Download FileZilla

FileZilla is the most popular free SFTP client. Download it from filezilla-project.org. Always download the FileZilla Client version, not the Server.

🔑 2. Get your SFTP credentials from the panel

Go to panel.zentexnode.com → select your server → go to the Settings tab. You'll see the SFTP Details section with:

• Server/Host: Your node's address (e.g. vilariges.zentexnode.com)
• Username: Your Pterodactyl username
• Port: 2022 (not the standard 22)
• Password: Your panel password

🔗 3. Set up the connection in FileZilla

Open FileZilla and fill in the top bar:

• Host: sftp://vilariges.zentexnode.com (add the sftp:// prefix)
• Username: Your panel username
• Password: Your panel password
• Port: 2022

Click Quickconnect. The first time, a notice about the server key appears — accept it and check "Always trust".

📂 4. Browse and manage your files

In FileZilla's right pane you'll see your server's files. You can:

• Upload files: Drag from the left pane (your computer) to the right pane (server).
• Download files: Drag from the right pane to the left.
• Edit text files: Right-click → View/Edit.

💡 Tips

• For uploading large worlds, SFTP is much more stable than the panel's web manager.
• Save the connection in FileZilla's Site Manager (File → Site Manager) so you don't enter the details every time.
• Always stop the server before editing critical files like server.properties or the world.
