How to Install Plugins on Paper and Purpur
🔌 What is a plugin?
A plugin is an extension that adds features to your Minecraft server without modifying the base game. Paper and Purpur are the most popular server types and support plugins in.jar format.📦 1. Download the plugin from safe sources
The best sites to find plugins are:- SpigotMC.org — The largest Bukkit/Spigot plugin library.
- Modrinth — Modern, with many up-to-date plugins.
- dev.bukkit.org — The official Bukkit site.
🗂️ 2. Open the panel's file manager
Go to panel.zentexnode.com, select your server and go to the Files tab. Navigate to the/plugins folder. If it doesn't exist, create it manually (only Paper/Purpur/Spigot need it, not Vanilla or Forge).⬆️ 3. Upload the .jar file
Click the Upload button inside the/plugins folder and select the .jar file you downloaded. Wait for the progress bar to reach 100% before closing.🔄 4. Restart the server
Go back to the Console tab and click Restart. The server reads the/plugins folder on startup and loads all the .jar files it finds.✅ 5. Check that it works
Connect to the server and type/plugins in the chat. You'll see a list of all loaded plugins. The ones shown in green are active correctly. If any appear in red, check the console for the error.⚠️ Important tips
- Always check that the plugin version is compatible with your Minecraft version. A plugin for 1.20 may not work on 1.21.
- Some plugins require dependencies (other plugins that must be installed first). Always read the plugin description.
- If the server won't start after installing a plugin, the error will be in the console. Look for lines saying
[ERROR]orCould not load. - To disable a plugin without deleting it, just rename the file to
plugin.jar.disabledand restart.
