What your Valheim server looks like at ZentexNode

What you can do with your Valheim server

On a dedicated server the world is persistent and online 24/7. It no longer depends on whoever created the game keeping it open, so each member of your group can log in whenever they like.

The control panel runs in your browser and brings together a live console, a file manager, SFTP access, backups and scheduled tasks for restarts or backups. You can also set a server password, turn on mods through BepInEx and open the world to Xbox and Game Pass players with crossplay. Anti-DDoS protection is included.

Which plan to choose

What changes from one plan to the next is the RAM. NVMe storage grows with it (10 GB per GB of RAM), as does the number of stored backups (one per GB of RAM), and every plan has 5 ports. You pay month to month, with no minimum term.

As a starting point:

  • 2 to 4 GB: small groups without mods.
  • 6 to 8 GB: lots of mods, heavily built-up worlds or more players.

Getting started

Order a plan and, once the payment is complete, the server is created automatically and your login details arrive by email. Open the panel, choose the server password and decide whether you want mods or crossplay. From there your group can connect; if you turned crossplay on, they'll get in with a join code.

If you'd rather not deal with the configuration, you can add Assisted setup, an optional one-off paid service in which a technician gets the world, mods and settings ready for you. A subdomain of your own (your-name.zentexnode.com) is an optional extra too. For any questions, support is handled through tickets on Discord.

Crossplay, mods and the world you already have

Crossplay is switched on with an option in the panel. It lets players on Xbox and on the Microsoft Store or Game Pass version join, and they connect using a join code.

Mods run on BepInEx, which you enable or disable from the panel; our guide to turning BepInEx mods on and off covers the whole process.

And if you already have a world well under way, there's no need to start over: upload its .db and .fwl files and pick up where you left off. We explain how in uploading your own Valheim world.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Valheim hosting

The most common questions before setting up your Valheim server.

How much RAM does Valheim need?
2-4 GB for small groups; go to 6-8 GB if you use many mods or have a lot of players.
Can I install mods?
Yes, we support BepInEx and you can add mods from the panel.
Is the world still available when I'm not online?
Yes. The server stays on around the clock even when you're away, so anyone in the group can log in and find the world just as it was left.
Can I set a password so only my group can get in?
Yes, the server password is configurable and you can change it whenever you need to.
What if I outgrow my plan?
You can move to a plan with more RAM from the client area without losing your world or your data.
Can I let a friend help me manage the server?
Yes. The panel lets you create sub-users, giving friends or admins access with the permissions you choose.
Where are the servers and what latency will I get in the US?
Our US node is in Miami, Florida. It is our closest location for players in the eastern and southern United States, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean; from the West Coast the distance is greater, so latency will be higher. We also have nodes in Spain and in the São Paulo region (Brazil), and you choose the location at checkout. Real latency depends on your internet provider; if you want to check it before buying, ask us on Discord.
Does it include Anti-DDoS and a no-commitment trial?
Yes, every plan includes Anti-DDoS Pro and there is no contract: you can cancel whenever you want.
What currency do I pay in?
Prices for the United States are in US dollars (USD) and you pay by card. There is no setup fee and no contract.
