São Paulo CDN included with your web hosting

🌎 What a CDN is, in a nutshell

When someone opens your website, their browser downloads the page and, along with it, lots of files that hardly ever change: images, stylesheets, scripts and fonts. If all of that has to cross an ocean on every visit, your site takes longer to show up on screen.

A CDN (content delivery network) keeps a copy of those files on a server close to your visitors. Instead of asking the main server, which may be very far away, the browser picks them up from one that is much closer.

📍 How ours works

We have set up an edge in São Paulo (Brazil) for the websites on our web hosting. This is how it works:
  • Your website stays where it has always been: on our main server, with your cPanel, your databases and your email.
  • The São Paulo edge keeps the images, stylesheets, scripts and fonts of your website.
  • Your visitors from Brazil and nearby South American countries get those files from São Paulo, without crossing the ocean.
  • Pages and everything generated on the fly (PHP, WordPress, shopping carts, forms, customer areas) are still served by the main server, just like today.

🛡️ If the edge fails, your site keeps going

We monitor the São Paulo edge continuously. If it stops responding properly, we send your visitors back to the main server and your website keeps working, without you having to do anything. When the edge recovers, it is used again.

👥 Who it is for

It is designed for websites with an audience in Brazil and South America: online shops, business websites, blogs, portfolios or gaming community pages with visitors from Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia or Peru.

If almost all your visitors come from Europe, you don't need it: your website is already close to them, and it is better to leave it as it is.

💳 Included in every plan

The São Paulo CDN is included in every web hosting plan, at no extra cost and without changing plans. There is nothing to install and no need to touch your website's code.

⚙️ How to turn it on

  • If your website has visitors from Brazil or Latin America, ask for it in a ticket on our Discord and we will turn it on for you.
  • If your domain uses our DNS, you don't have to touch anything: we make the change ourselves.
  • If your domain uses another DNS provider or already goes through another CDN, we will explain the change you need to make in the same ticket.

❓ Frequently asked questions

Do I have to change anything on my website?
No. Your website, your cPanel and your email stay the same. The only change is the route that images, styles and scripts take.

Does it affect my email?
No. Email stays on the main server, as always.

Does everything get faster?
What you notice most is how quickly images, styles, scripts and fonts load, which is a large part of what a website weighs. Pages and anything calculated on the fly are still served by the main server.

If I change an image, will it show right away?
Pages, yes. What the edge keeps is refreshed on its own shortly after; if you need a change to show immediately, ask us in a ticket to clear the cache.

How much does it cost?
Nothing: it is included in your web hosting plan.
