How to Upload Your Existing World to the Server
🌍 Why migrate a world?
If you've been playing on a local server or another provider and want to continue your adventure on ZentexNode, you can upload your entire world. All your progress, builds and items are kept.🛑 1. Stop the server first
Before touching any file, stop the server from the panel. Uploading files with the server running can corrupt the world. Click the Stop button and wait for the console to confirm it has stopped.💾 2. Locate your world folder
On your computer, the Minecraft worlds folder is in:- Windows:
%appdata%\.minecraft\saves\YourWorldName - Linux/Mac:
~/.minecraft/saves/YourWorldName
world.📁 3. Compress the folder into a .zip
Right-click the world folder → Compress → .zip. This makes uploading easier since you upload a single file instead of thousands of small ones.⬆️ 4. Upload the file to the panel
In the panel, go to Files. You'll see a folder calledworld (or your current world's name). If you already have data there, move it elsewhere or make a backup first. Upload the .zip file you created. Once uploaded, the panel may extract it automatically — if not, use the Unzip option that appears when you right-click the zip.⚙️ 5. Set the world name in server.properties
Open theserver.properties file from the file manager and find the line:level-name=worldChange it to the exact name of the folder you uploaded. If your folder is called
MyAdventure, write level-name=MyAdventure.▶️ 6. Start the server and verify
Click Start in the panel. The server will load your world. Connect to the server and check everything is as you left it. Your adventure continues!💡 Extra tips
- If the world is several GB, it can take several minutes to upload. Don't close the panel during the upload.
- For very large worlds, it's more efficient to connect via SFTP (explained in another article on this blog).
- The server type must be compatible with the world. A Forge world may not load well on Paper.
