How to add mods to Project Zomboid: one by one or a whole collection
🧟 Mods in Project Zomboid, made simple
In Project Zomboid, mods aren't uploaded as files: the game downloads them from the Steam Workshop using their Mod ID and Workshop ID. Setting that up by hand inservertest.ini is fiddly, and one silly mistake takes the server down. That's why ZentexNode gives you a Mods tab that does it for you.🧭 1. Open the «Mods» tab
Go into your server and, in the side menu (the Game section), click Mods. There you can add mods two ways: one by one, or by pasting a whole collection.➕ 2. Add a single mod
Copy the mod's Steam Workshop link (or its ID) and paste it. The system automatically resolves the Mod ID and the map by reading the mod's Steam page, so you don't have to look them up. Add as many as you like and save.📋 3. Add a whole collection
Got a long mod list? Create a Steam Workshop collection with all of them and paste the collection link. We expand it, pull all the Mod IDs and maps at once, and set them on your server. Perfect for big modpacks.🗺️ 4. Maps and order
Maps are detected automatically and added to the rotation. If a mod must load before another (dependencies), keep the collection order: it's applied as-is. The few mods whose Mod ID can't be read automatically are shown as «unresolved» so you can review them.🔄 5. Save and restart
When you save, the server restarts to apply the mods. The first time it will download every file from Steam, so it may take a while. Once it boots, your mods are live!👥 Do players need the mods?
They don't have to install them by hand: when they join a modded server, Project Zomboid downloads them from the Workshop automatically. They only need to subscribe if they also want them in their local game.Set up your Project Zomboid server at ZentexNode with automatic setup, a panel in your language and self-service mods without tickets.
