What you can do with your ARK server

You pick ARK: Survival Evolved or ARK: Survival Ascended when you order, and from there the rules are yours. The map, the experience, taming and harvesting multipliers, the password and the rest of the game settings can all be edited, so the server works just as well for a relaxed game with friends as for a community that likes boosted rates.

The server stays online 24/7 whether or not you are connected, with Anti-DDoS protection included. You manage it from a control panel in your browser: live console, file manager, SFTP access, backups, and scheduled tasks for restarts, backups or commands.

Which plan to choose

Plans differ by RAM, and with ARK what matters is the edition, the map and how many mods you load. Billing is monthly with no commitment, and you can move to a plan with more RAM later from the client area without losing your data. As a guide:

• ARK: Survival Evolved: 6 to 8 GB, depending on the map and mods.
• ARK: Survival Ascended: needs more, 10 to 12 GB, or more again with mods.
• Every plan includes 10 GB of NVMe storage per GB of RAM, as many stored backups and MySQL databases as it has GB of RAM, and 5 ports.

How to get started

Choose your edition and plan and complete the payment. Activation is automatic: the server is created on its own and your login details arrive by email. Log in to the panel, set the map, multipliers and password the way you want them, start the server and share its address with your group.

If you would rather not handle the configuration yourself, Assisted setup is an optional one-off paid service in which a technician leaves the server configured with the map, mods and settings you ask for. You can add it when you order or later from the client area. For anything else, support is handled through tickets on Discord.

Evolved or Ascended, and how mods work

The edition is chosen when you order, so settle it beforehand: go with the one your group plays. For the server, the practical difference is memory. Ascended needs noticeably more RAM than Evolved, and mods push that figure up.

Mods are managed from the Mods tab in the panel; on Evolved these are Steam Workshop mods. The more you load, the more memory the server uses, so factor your mod list into the plan you choose.
