What your RedM (Red Dead RP) server looks like at ZentexNode

What you can do with your RedM server

Your server runs FXServer, the same software FiveM uses, set to Red Dead mode. It comes with txAdmin, which opens in your browser on one of the plan's additional ports.

In our panel you can change the license key, max players, server name, server version (artifact) and txAdmin port without editing any files. You also get a live console, file manager, SFTP access, backups, scheduled tasks and sub-users. The server stays online when nobody is connected, and Anti-DDoS protection is included.

Which plan to choose

Plans differ by RAM, and on a roleplay server it is mostly the scripts that use it up. Every plan includes 10 GB of NVMe storage per GB of RAM, as many MySQL databases and stored backups as it has GB of RAM, and 5 ports. Billing is monthly with no contract, and you can move to a plan with more RAM from the client area without losing your data. As a guide:

  • 4 GB: enough to get started, set up your base and test resources.
  • 8 GB or more: for an active roleplay server running a lot of scripts.

How to get started

Pick a plan and, once the payment goes through, the server is created automatically and your login details arrive by email. To start it you need a Cfx.re license key, which is free: paste it into the panel and start the server.

Then open txAdmin in your browser and follow its setup wizard. The steps are the same as for FiveM, so our guide to installing a server with txAdmin applies here too. Once that is done, your players join from RedM with the server address.

If you would rather receive it already configured, there is Assisted setup, an optional one-off paid service handled by a technician.

VORP, RSG and your server's resources

Almost every roleplay server is built on a framework. The usual choices on RedM are VORP and RSG, and both work with a MySQL database, which is already part of your plan.

There are two ways to install resources: deploy a base (a recipe) from the txAdmin wizard, or upload them yourself through the file manager or over SFTP (how to connect over SFTP).

If a script asks for a newer server build, change the artifact in the panel. Before updating important resources, take a backup: here is how to create and restore one.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about RedM (Red Dead RP) hosting

The most common questions before setting up your RedM (Red Dead RP) server.

Is RedM the same as FiveM?
RedM runs on the same server (FXServer) as FiveM but in Red Dead Redemption 2 mode. You get txAdmin, a full console and you upload your own resources just like on FiveM.
How many players can a RedM server hold?
It depends on RAM and resources/scripts: 4 GB to start (32-64 slots) and 8 GB or more for busy cities with many scripts.
Do I need a license to run a RedM server?
Yes, a Cfx.re license key. It is free, and you paste it into the panel before starting the server.
How do I open txAdmin?
In your browser, using your server address and the txAdmin port, which is shown in the panel.
Can I install VORP or RSG?
Yes. They install like any other resource, through a txAdmin recipe that includes them or by uploading the files, and connect to one of your plan's MySQL databases.
Can I give my team access without sharing my account?
Yes. With sub-users, your admins and developers each get their own access to the panel, with the permissions you choose.
Where are the servers and what latency do they have?
Our servers are in Spain, with 10 Gbps fibre: the lowest possible latency for players across Iberia and Europe.
Does it include Anti-DDoS and a no-commitment trial?
Yes, every plan includes Anti-DDoS Pro and there is no contract: you can cancel whenever you want.
