What your Assetto Corsa server looks like at ZentexNode
What you can do with your Assetto Corsa server
With your own server you can run races, leagues or open sessions at whatever time suits your group, because it's online 24/7. You decide the track, the cars allowed and the format of each event: practice, qualifying and race.
The panel opens in your browser and has four game-specific settings: server name, join password, admin password and automatic updates. On top of that you get a live console, file manager, SFTP access, backups, scheduled tasks and sub-users, handy when a league has several organisers. Anti-DDoS protection is included.
Which plan to choose
The Assetto Corsa server is lightweight: 2 to 4 GB of RAM is enough. Keep an eye on storage too, since custom tracks and cars take up space and each plan includes 10 GB of NVMe per GB of RAM.
If your league grows, you can move up a plan from the client area without losing your data. As a guide:
- 2 GB: races among friends with little added content.
- 4 GB: bigger grids and a large collection of tracks and cars.
Getting started
Order a plan and, once payment is complete, the server is created and your login details arrive by email. Installing the game files requires a Steam account that owns Assetto Corsa: username, password and, if it uses Steam Guard, the code.
Once the server is installed, set the name and passwords in the panel, define the track and cars, and start it. Your drivers look it up by name in the game and get in with the join password. If you'd rather receive it ready to race, Assisted setup is an optional one-off paid service.
Tracks, cars and sessions
The configuration lives in two files in the cfg folder. server_cfg.ini defines the track, the cars allowed and the practice, qualifying and race sessions; entry_list.ini is the entry list, with the car assigned to each slot.
Custom content goes in content/tracks and content/cars, ideally over SFTP when there are lots of files (see our guide to connecting over SFTP). The names you write in the configuration must match those folder names, and every driver needs the same version of the track and cars: if they don't match, that driver won't be able to join.
