What your GTA San Andreas (SA-MP / MTA) server looks like at ZentexNode
What you can do with your GTA San Andreas server
When you order, you choose the multiplayer platform: SA-MP, open.mp or Multi Theft Auto (MTA:SA). On top of it you run your own project, whether that is a roleplay server, a racing server or a gamemode you wrote yourself.
Gamemodes, filterscripts and plugins for SA-MP and open.mp, and resources for MTA, are uploaded through the file manager or over SFTP. The panel adds a live console, MySQL databases, backups, scheduled tasks for restarts or commands, and sub-users. The server is online 24/7, with Anti-DDoS protection included.
Which plan to choose
These servers use very little memory, so there is no need to start on a large plan. Every plan includes 10 GB of NVMe storage per GB of RAM, as many MySQL databases and stored backups as it has GB of RAM, and 5 ports. Billing is monthly with no contract. As a guide:
- The smallest plan is usually enough to get a server up and keep it running.
- Move up a plan if you load a lot of scripts or the server fills with players; you do it from the client area and keep all your data.
How to get started
Choose a platform and a plan and complete the payment. The server is created automatically and your login details arrive by email. In the panel, set the RCON password and, if you need one, a different SA-MP or open.mp version.
Next, upload your gamemode or resources, reference them in the configuration file and restart the server. With a lot of files, SFTP is the easier route: see how to connect over SFTP. Your players join by adding the server address in their client.
If you would rather not configure it yourself, Assisted setup is an optional one-off paid service in which a technician gets it ready for you.
Each platform's configuration file
What the server loads on startup is decided in a file you edit from the file manager, and which file depends on the platform:
- SA-MP: server.cfg. This is where the server name, gamemode, filterscripts and plugins go.
- open.mp: config.json. It also accepts an SA-MP server.cfg, handy if you are bringing over a server you already had.
- MTA:SA: mtaserver.conf. Here you list the resources that start with the server. MTA also uses a second, web port for its resources.
