What you can do with your Enshrouded server

A dedicated server keeps your group's world online 24/7: the bases, the chests and everything you've explored are still there even when the person who created it isn't connected, and everyone joins whenever they like. It supports up to 16 players at once, the game's maximum.

From the panel, without editing files, you choose the name shown in the list, the maximum number of players, the difficulty (Default, Relaxed, Hard, Survival or Custom) and the three access passwords. You also get a real-time console, file manager, SFTP, backups, scheduled tasks and sub-users, with Anti-DDoS protection included.

Which plan to choose

Enshrouded starts using less than 1 GB of RAM, but usage grows with each player, with what you've explored and with the bases you build. You pay month to month, with no minimum term, and you can move to a plan with more RAM from the client area without losing your world.

• 6 GB: a small group of friends.
• 8 to 10 GB: a full server, with 16 players.
• More RAM: heavily explored worlds with lots of bases.
• Every plan includes 10 GB of NVMe storage per GB of RAM, one backup per GB and 5 ports.

How to get started

Choose a plan and complete the payment: the server is created on its own and your login details arrive by email. Enshrouded doesn't need any token, and the three passwords are already set, different for each server: you can see and change them on the Startup tab. Press Start and, once the panel shows it online, people can join.

To play, look for the server by its name in the game's list or join with the address and port shown in the panel; when you join, the game asks for one of the passwords. If you would rather have someone else set it up, Assisted setup is an optional one-off paid service in which a technician configures the difficulty, passwords and settings you ask for. Support is handled through tickets on Discord.

Passwords, difficulty and updates

Each password gives a role. With the admin one you can kick and ban players, build anywhere and open every chest; with the friend one you build in the bases and open chests; with the guest one you just play. If you leave the guest password empty, anyone can join as a guest. Passwords can't be numbers only.

The Custom difficulty uses the values you set in the gameSettings section of the enshrouded_server.json file, which you can edit with the file manager or SFTP.

When you stop the server from the panel, the world is saved. It also updates itself on every start, because all players need the same version as the server.
