What you can do with your The Isle server
A dedicated The Isle Evrima server keeps your dinosaur community online 24/7, with your own rules and without relying on other people's servers. It supports from 1 to 200 players.
From the panel, without editing files, you choose the name shown in the list, the maximum number of players, a password if you want it private, the map, the admins, whether humans can be played, dynamic weather, the join queue and RCON. You also get a real-time console, file manager, SFTP, backups, scheduled tasks and sub-users, with Anti-DDoS protection included.
Which plan to choose
With the map loaded and nobody on, the server uses between 1 and 1.5 GB of RAM, but AI-controlled dinosaurs and every player who joins push it up a lot. You pay month to month, with no minimum term, and you can move to a plan with more RAM from the client area without losing your game.
- 6 to 8 GB: a small community.
- 10 to 16 GB: 50 to 100 players.
- 20 GB: servers with even more players.
- Every plan includes 10 GB of NVMe storage per GB of RAM, one backup per GB and 5 ports.
How to get started
Choose a plan and complete the payment: the server is created on its own and your login details arrive by email. The Isle doesn't need any token: the server is already set up to appear in the game's list. On the Startup tab, set the server name and, if you like, a password; if it's empty, anyone can join. To become an admin, enter your SteamID64 in «Admins» (if there are several of you, separated by commas) and restart.
Press Start and, once the panel shows it online, people can join: players look for the server's name in the game's list. If you would rather have someone else set it up, Assisted setup is an optional one-off paid service in which a technician configures the admins, the map and the settings you ask for. Support is handled through tickets on Discord.
Maps, queue, RCON and updates
Gateway is the default map.
The join queue is on by default: when the server is full, players wait for their turn instead of being left out. It uses its own port, already assigned. RCON, the remote console, is off by default; you turn it on in «RCON» with an «RCON password», and its port is assigned too.
The panel writes its settings to Game.ini on every start and leaves the file's other lines as they are, so you can change the rest of the game's options with the file manager or over SFTP. With «Update on startup» on, the server updates itself on every start, because all players need the same version as the server.
